Lithium for Glass & Ceramics

Lithium Carbonate is widely used in the manufacture of special glass and ceramics where it is used to control thermal expansion. For example, glass cooker tops need to be able to transition from room temperature to several hundred degrees without shattering, and it is the inclusion of Lithium Carbonate that makes this possible.
